“SOUL LIFE…”

Each time I hear, see, or speak the words SOUL LIFE I revisit, for the moment, my childhood. How easy it was then to visualize every possibility as I had yet to place parameters on my own dreams. Still time has a way of shifting who we are and I now consider my dreams—past and present—an element of my Soul Life.

Why you may ask? Well it began at my birth. I was surrounded by family on all sides and wherever I wandered. Each voice conveyed innuendo as to the caretaking of a spiritual life. Of course I was typewriter_legswtypewriter_sample_img_2unaware of this until years later and my encounter with a high priestess; my Great Grandmother. She arrived in America from Italy long before I was even a thought. And until I was a grown woman I did not spend much private time with her. Until that one day…  Her blueprint was to rock slowly back and forth on her front porch; a grey shawl wrapped tight about her shoulders. On this morning she shared with me saying: “It’s my time!” She continued rocking and added: “The angels carry my soul back to God.”

She continued her rocking cadence but remained silent; even though I asked her to explain …my time. Whether or not she lived beyond “…my time” I shall never know. Yet that moment with her I shall never forget.

These days there are social media sites across the spectrum as to the Soul and its purpose before life during life and afterlife. Our guides in this open dialogue are names like Deepak Chopra, Gary Zukav, Eckhart Tolle, Oprah, Wayne Dyer, and so many more. I do not pretend to speak on their behalf or on behalf of my great grandmother.

As to the word soul I see it as an intention given by God with a return date required.

WRITERS OR STORYTELLERS…

imagesUDP93W9A

I was researching the word storyteller the other day and found that We the Writers of Mother Earth are regarded as both raconteurs and fibbers and liars. Well, I was deeply offended! In fact, I consider each word I write to carry with it my intention to speak to the essence of its reader.

Words, in any language, can benefit or create fear or destroy. Storytellers on social media are fully engaged in a war of words that include their credentials to impart they are correct in whatever they print. Newspapers and magazines and mailings arrive in our mailboxes or on our doorsteps. These are to enlighten us on whom or what to vote for. What is best for us to eat or buy and where. Yet, not many flyers remind us to look at a cloud or stop to listen to our child’s laughter or call an elder parent or just take a breath.

~ THE WEB & A SPIDER’S WEB ~

The  Web and a Spider’s Web are beautiful and deadly all at the same time. Coined by J. L. Montera

Yes I too stepped into the void that is The Web and doing so I learned new terminology and uncovered a world out in the Cloud that is The Web. I learned that each step one takes to build a platform is a crucial step not to be taken lightly. To understand that not knowing is okay at first but this luxury is not permanent and can be fatal. I took advice from the clued-up yet wondered how technology would ultimately impact me as a person. Would I find value added to my hard work or become stunted as to who I was and the products I create?

For example, to trust something called an eBook that actually does not exist until downloaded. Or copyrights with ISBN numbers that float by on the back cover of every river of creativity.

The Web is like a Stage where each name of every actor is present to prove their competence and guarantee their resources are enough for the World’s Stage. The governments of the world are present as well to capture the accolades that are collected in every monetary value.

Social Media on The Web are second-by-second scenes that soar past leaving a void where story telling used to be. There are harsh scripts by bullies of all sorts with the intention to do harm. Those attending the play have no recourse but to believe what the script intended so accept the unacceptable. Or worse, writes a different play that wounds and the plays go on.

The Web that is a Cloud and The Spider Web that sustains a spider are, I imagine, here to stay. So the last line of my play warns: What is beautiful can also be deadly!

“MIGRATION & HUMANKIND & ELEPHANTS…”

letter_writi_24714_lg

In the Serengeti, every year between the wet and dry season, the elephants migrate hundreds of miles at great peril to their younglings and themselves. Yet to not migrate is a death sentence to this Keystone specie. As I write this, the words death sentence catches my thoughts as we watch humankind do the same all across Mother Earth.

My family migrated too, from Brazil and Italy and England and by Wagon Train. Their intention was a better life in America for themselves and those of us yet to be born. In so many ways THEY built the America we were to be raised in and taught us the value of a place called HOME.

Today I’m conflicted about humankind migration because the media of every flavor spins THE STORY in so many ways. So I go back to the voice of those who came before me. Their intention was a better life and education for their children and FREEDOM. Freedom is a word that means free expression so I ask: If one who is not allowed a voice arrives in a place that does, what are the consequences to them and the country they now live in?

How I wished I’d have asked that question of those who came before me. I’ve never known anything else but liberty—Migrate…Integrate…Assimilate…Build!

Like the elephants, humankind will forever migrate. The Serengeti Elephants eat 350 pounds of food a day. If their droppings were not left behind there would be no fertilization for the grasslands to grow and that would change and ultimately destroy the Serengeti and all its inhabitants as we know it today.

Yet again Mother Earth speaks on our behalf…But are we listening?

“What IS The Greater Good?..”

Janet's logo text

The term Greater Good has always fascinated me. Not the term itself, but the intention of those who try to define it; like I am right now.

The word GREATER means: better, superior and bigger. The word GOOD means: blameless, decent and worthy. Some say IT benefits more people than oneself. IT is also defined as that which is better and more correct. These ideals have BIG SHOES to fill as Mother Earth tries to balance our differences.

The words “Greater Good” remind me of the buildup to an orchestra’s crescendo; loud and meaningful and intended. After which humankind go their separate ways, lessening the collective meaning of our shared experience.

So what is the Greater Good? That dear readers, is the intention you give to IT.

“HAND: THE WORD & HUMANKIND…”

hands

HAND is a word that means give or offer or tender or dispense. This knowing caused me to wonder: “What if each time we shake a hand or hold a hand or kiss a hand or pat a hand or reach for a helping hand our LIFE would be—for the moment—unbroken?”

For those of you who know me suspect another question isn’t far behind. Here it is: “Might it be possible that the words we speak—as simple as HAND—are intended to carry out a purpose equally as vital to humankind as breathing?”

“What Is Intention Anyway?…”

intention

Intention is a word that means purpose and there are other synonyms—but they do not belong in this blog. You’ll see why.

Prophecy is a prediction made under divine influence and direction: something a lot like the word intention; or is it? Well here comes the rub as far as I’m concerned.

From Mother Earth’s first sunlight we, humankind, have careworn our world using one word: intention. One century after another we’ve governed the play calls by making use of kings, rooks, bishops, queens, knights and pawns—utilizing our rank and file—to checkmate Earth’s Chessboard christened rationale.

There is in the word itself to intend. So do I plant my intentions? You bet! And, guess what it revealed: CAUTION!

The next time we intend a thought—silent or spoken—become vigilant. It just might determine what intention will be fulfilled. And it is at that exact moment humankind will look skyward to the cosmos or downward to the destruction of Mother Earth.

“Evolve or Shape-Shift Through Life…”

Janet's logo text

Evolve is a word that means to make progress or go forward or change. Humankind—dare I imply Mother Earth herself—has endowed humanity with Earth Pathways we are free to follow or to take no notice of. But, as usual, danger and/or reward are always just around that next change in direction.

As I write this I’m remembering the Earth Pathways that shaped my humankind progress. Many evolved over time; the pathways were a climb; a bit bumpy, yet ultimately smoothed out. Others, well others were shape-shifted without my permission; even life-threatening. So, how might my experiences help you?

Well—first and foremost—at all times when stepping onto Earth’s Pathways be fully aware of your intention for doing so. Yet, intention is never absolutely alone on whatever pathway we ultimately choose. That unseen shape-shifter—devoid of our vigilance—obscures the light that is our invitation to try again.

“THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED THEN…”

lindbergI’ve believed, for a very long time, that what happened in my past cannot be separated from my future—for haven’t I lived both?

FOR INSTANCE: Charles Augustus Lindbergh flew The Spirit of St. Louis across the Atlantic nonstop and solo, direct from New York City to Paris on May Twenty. He arrived in Paris after thirty-three hours and twenty-nine minutes on May 21, 1927. How many of us since that 1927 event fly on the wings of Lindbergh’s past?

CONSIDER THIS: Lindbergh’s feat was intentional and reasoned out at the onset and after the fact; for years really. So I dare to ask: “Isn’t your life as worthy of notice and self-appraisal within The Spirit of Your Own Story? When you know THIS you will know what happened THEN.

“I THINK THEREFORE I AM…”

typewriter_legswtypewriter_sample_img_2Quote by René Descartes {In French: je pense que donc je suis.} Add to this mix one Professor Stephen Hawking who says: “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance it is the illusion of knowledge.”

Lately, and I know not why, I’ve been deep in thought about our world and my place in it. Oh, I have none of the je ne sais quoi (I don’t know what) of either of these inspired thinkers or whether or not I accept as absolutely true their contemplations of what it is to be humankind.

Modestly, here is my example of the premise I Think Therefore I Am. When I blog I am required to think so that who I am comes across in my words. You, my readership, also need thought to translate, as you see fit, my intention and once understood—therefore you are.

But ultimately unless I’m blessed with genes that keep me alive for centuries, I can prove none of what I’ve written here. On the other hand, maybe in my passing away I will catch Descartes or Hawking at their folly or their brilliance.
